Our Team and Board of Governors

At the Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality (SAJEM), we are driven by a dedicated and passionate team of professionals committed to advocating for the rights of marginalized communities, particularly minority tribes in Somalia. Our team is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise in human rights, law, policy advocacy, community development, and international relations, all working collaboratively to achieve our mission of promoting justice, equality, and dignity for all.

Our Team

Our team is at the forefront of every initiative, working tirelessly to tackle systemic issues such as discrimination, inequality, and the abuse of minority groups. Each team member brings a wealth of experience and specialized knowledge to the organization, ensuring that our efforts are effective and impactful.

  1. Human Rights and Legal Experts: Our legal team is dedicated to providing legal assistance to those facing unlawful detention, land displacement, and other human rights abuses. They work closely with local and international legal bodies to ensure that Somalia’s marginalized communities have access to justice.

  2. Community Organizers and Advocates: Our grassroots organizers are deeply engaged with local communities, listening to their needs, empowering them with knowledge of their rights, and mobilizing collective action for change. They are essential in building trust and collaboration with vulnerable populations.

  3. Research and Policy Analysts: The research team is tasked with gathering data, documenting human rights abuses, and analyzing policies affecting minority groups. Their work helps shape our advocacy strategies and ensures that our campaigns are rooted in facts and evidence.

  4. Communication and Media Specialists: We have a strong communications team that is responsible for spreading awareness, educating the public, and amplifying the voices of those who are often silenced. They manage our social media presence, media campaigns, and partnerships with journalists and advocacy organizations.

  5. International Relations and Diplomatic Outreach: Our team members with experience in international diplomacy and human rights advocacy work to engage global organizations such as the United Nations, the African Union, and international NGOs, ensuring that the plight of Somali minority groups is addressed on the global stage.

The Board of Governors of SAJEM plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring governance standards, and overseeing the implementation of our mission. The board comprises experienced individuals from various sectors, each bringing their unique insights and expertise to ensure that our work aligns with the highest standards of human rights and justice.
