ABDIRAHMAN IFTIN
Chairman
Abdirahman Iftin is a dedicated community leader and advocate with a bachelor's degree in economics and finance and master's degree in finance. He has wealth of knowledge in Somali affairs, community development, and organizational management. He brings extensive experience in working with diverse communities and possesses a deep understanding of the social, economic, and cultural dynamics affecting Somali communities.

ZEYTUN ADEN
Vice Chairwoman
Zeytun Aden is the Vice Chairwoman of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where she plays a key leadership role in advancing community empowerment, justice, and equitable representation for marginalized Somali communities.
A dedicated educator by profession, Zeytun brings her experience in teaching and youth development into her advocacy work. She is deeply committed to strengthening educational opportunities, supporting families, and guiding young people toward academic success and positive community engagement.

ABDI MOHAMUD
Spokesman
Abdi Mohamud serves as the Spokesman of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he represents the organization’s voice in public engagement, media communication, and stakeholder relations. He plays a key role in articulating SAJEM’s mission, priorities, and advocacy efforts to the wider community and partner organizations.
A former Chairman of SAJEM, Abdi provided strategic leadership during his tenure, helping to shape the organization’s direction, strengthen its governance, and expand its community impact. His continued involvement reflects a lasting commitment to the movement’s vision and goals.
He holds a Master’s degree in Global Security, which informs his understanding of international affairs, conflict dynamics, and policy development. Through his combined experience in leadership, communication, and security studies, Abdi Mohamud continues to contribute meaningfully to SAJEM’s mission and broader community advancement efforts.

ABUBAKAR MOHAMED
Secretary
Abubakar Mohamed serves as the Secretary of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he plays a central role in organizational coordination, documentation, and communication. He is responsible for maintaining records, supporting leadership operations, and ensuring effective information flow across the organization’s advocacy and community initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal justices and master's in social work.
Professionally, Abubakar is a tax professional with experience in taxing. Tax preparation and client services, helping individuals and families navigate financial systems with clarity and confidence. He is also an author, known for developing creative and impactful works that explore themes of resilience, imagination, and human experience.

HUSSEIN ALI
Assistance foreign Lead
Hussein Ali serves as the Foreign Team Assistance Leader of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he supports international coordination, communication, and collaborative advocacy efforts. In this role, he assists in strengthening connections between diaspora communities, partners, and global stakeholders to advance SAJEM’s mission of justice and equality.
He holds a degree in Cybersecurity, bringing valuable technical expertise in digital safety, information protection, and secure communication systems. His academic background enhances SAJEM’s ability to operate safely and effectively in an increasingly digital advocacy environment.
Hussein also brings a wealth of experience and understanding in youth engagement, community development, and general advocacy knowledge. He is committed to empowering young people, strengthening community participation, and supporting initiatives that promote awareness and positive social change.
Through his combined skills in cybersecurity, leadership, and advocacy, Hussein Ali plays an important supporting role in advancing SAJEM’s foreign engagement and strengthening its overall organizational capacity.

HAMADI MUYA
Foreign Team Lead
Hamadi Muya serves as the Foreign Team Lead of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he plays a vital role in coordinating international engagement and strengthening global partnerships. He supports the organization’s efforts to connect diaspora communities, advocacy networks, and international stakeholders in advancing shared goals of justice and equality.
He brings strong leadership skills grounded in community development, strategic planning, and human rights advocacy. Hamadi is actively involved in designing and supporting initiatives that amplify community voices and promote sustainable, long-term impact across local and global platforms.
Academically, Hamadi Muya holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), which reflects his commitment to care, service, and improving human well-being. His background in healthcare strengthens his understanding of public health challenges and community resilience, especially within vulnerable populations.

Media Specialist
Abdirahim Mohamed serves as the Media Specialist for SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he is responsible for managing communications, storytelling, and digital outreach. He plays a key role in shaping the organization’s public presence and ensuring that SAJEM’s message reaches diverse audiences through effective and engaging media platforms.
He brings a wealth of knowledge in media production, communication strategy, youth engagement, and community advocacy. Abdirahim is passionate about using media as a tool for awareness, empowerment, and positive social change, particularly in amplifying the voices of young people and underserved communities.
Through his work, he supports initiatives that connect communities, highlight important social issues, and strengthen engagement between SAJEM and the public. His expertise contributes to building visibility, trust, and impact for the organization’s mission and programs.
Abdirahim Mohamed continues to play an important role in advancing SAJEM’s outreach efforts and supporting youth-centered advocacy through modern media and communication strategies.

AMINA SHALE
Demostic Team Lead
Amina Shale serves as the Domestic Team Lead of SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where she coordinates local programs, community outreach, and grassroots engagement initiatives. In her role, she works closely with community members, families, and partner organizations to strengthen domestic advocacy efforts and ensure effective service delivery at the community level.
Amina is a committed community leader with a strong focus on youth engagement, empowerment, and social development. She actively supports programs that create positive pathways for young people, helping them access mentorship, education, and constructive opportunities that build long-term stability and success.
In addition to her leadership role in SAJEM, Amina is the Founder and CEO of More Than Smiles, an initiative dedicated to uplifting individuals and communities through support services, encouragement, and outreach efforts aimed at improving wellbeing and resilience.
She also brings an academic and practical background in criminal justice, which informs her understanding of community safety, rehabilitation, and justice system engagement. This perspective strengthens her ability to contribute to programs that address prevention, support at-risk youth, and promote fair and effective community solutions.

Community Liaison
Sheikh Omar Bashir serves as the Community Liaison for SAJEM (Somali Advocacy for Justice and Equality Movement), where he plays a vital role in strengthening relationships between the organization and the communities it serves. Through his leadership and outreach efforts, he helps foster trust, collaboration, and meaningful engagement among community members, stakeholders, and advocacy partners.
A respected community leader and religious scholar, Sheikh Omar brings years of experience in community guidance, education, and conflict resolution. He is dedicated to promoting unity, social cohesion, and understanding while addressing the needs and concerns of diverse community members.
In his role with SAJEM, Sheikh Omar supports community outreach initiatives, cultural engagement, and advocacy efforts that empower individuals and families. His deep understanding of faith, community values, and social responsibility helps bridge gaps between communities and institutions while encouraging active participation in civic and social development.
